Google – Petra
Google asked us to help them craft handwritten calligraphic titles for the Google Maps Treks series on Petra. We went through a process of closely looking at Nabatean scripts, along with Arabic, to try and craft a gritty and slightly worn script. With an initial exploration stage of various calligraphic script styles, we also tried many different writing tools to try and achieve a consistent written style. We not only worked on the Nabatean and Arabic, but also crafted the English, Russian and Japanese transliterations for Petra.
